Name that movie...

"If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your potential, to be the best that you can be, I don’t care what the scoreboard says at the end of the game. In my book we’re going to be winners."

that was my guess. seeing as there are no black players in that picture....it's got to be hoosiers. An all white team winning...yeah right!!

Yeah, it's got the stupidest tagline in history, "They needed a second chance to finish first."

Uh, what? what movie were they watching when that came to mind?

They win. It takes one season. Done.

Still, excellent movie. The heart of high school sports which is you find a good coach and he runs the show, win or lose. Do what he says. After the game you can do what you want. I noticed something this last time...when Hackman calls a decoy at the end. The kids are all quiet. They'd learned their lesson not to question him out loud, but they didn't like the plan. Then Jimmy Chipwood says, "I'll make it." greatest last words. And Hackman understands that he's the shooter. Give it to the shooter. Make the other team stop your best. Don't over coach yourself.

Although the love affair between Hackman and Barbara Hershey was totally stupid. It went down half a star when they kissed.
